The Homepage of Lighthouses

Lighthouses are one of the oldest navigation aids for ships (besides the stars) that sail across the world. Lighthouses exist in various shapes and models. Through the years the light source also changed from a fire to Xenon flash tubes. At first no lenses were used, but now there's only one common lens: "the Fresnel". Read and click on to learn more about the first great navigation aid on earth, called the................LIGHTHOUSE !!!
